The journey begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to hile, which takes approximately 2 hours. The drive passes through beautiful countryside, traditional villages, terraced farmlands along the Annapurna region. Upon arrival at Hile (1430 m), the trek starts with a pleasant walk through small settlements and stone paved trails leading to Tikhedhunga. After crossing a suspension bridge, the trials ascends along the famous stone staircase through forest and local villages until reaching Ulleri ( 2000 m) offering impressive views of the surrounding hills and mountains. The hike from Hile to Ulleri takes around 2-3 hours. Overnight stay in local tea house in Ulleri.
The trek continues from Ulleri to Ghorepani, taking approximately 4-5 hours of walking. The trial gradually ascends through beautiful rhododendron and oak forest, passing small settlements such as Banthanti and Nangethanti. Along the way, trekkers can enjoy peaceful forest scenery, fresh mountain air, and views of surrounding hills. The path is well maintained and mostly uphill but steady. Upon reaching Ghorepani (2850 m), a popular stop in the Annapurna region, you can enjoy stunning mountain views and prepare for the next day's early morning hike to Poonhill for sunrise. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.
The day begins with an early morning hike from Ghorepani to Poonhill (3210 m), which takes about 45 minutes. Poon Hill is one of the most famous viewpoints in the Annapurna region, offering spectacular sunrise views over the Himalayan ranges including Annapurna south, Dhaulagiri, Macchapuchhre and Huinchuli. After enjoying the sunrise and panoramic mountain scenery, you will return to Ghorepani for breakfast. The trek continues towards Tadapani, taking approximately 5-6 hours. The trial passes through dense rhododendron forest and beautiful landscapes with occasional views of Annapurna ranges and Machhapuchhre ranges. Upon arrival in Tadapani (2630 m), overnight stay at a local tea house.
After breakfast in Tadapani, the trek continues downhill towards Chomrong. This section of trial takes approximately 4-5 hours and offers a mix of gentle descents and occasional steep sections. Along the way, trekkers pass small villages, streams, and traditional terraced farmlands, enjoying glimpses of surrounding Annapurna and Machhapuchhre ranges. Upon reaching Chomrong (2050 m), a key village on the Annapurna base camp route, you can rest and enjoy the serene village atmosphere. Overnight stay in Chomrong.
The trek descends through staircase of Chomrong village, crossing several suspension bridges over streams before beginning a gradual ascents towards Dovan. The hike takes approximately 5-6 hours and passes through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests, with the views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre. Along the way, trekkers can see waterfalls and small tea houses for Short breaks. Dovan (2600 m) serves as a resting point before ascending further toward higher camps on the Annapurna base camp route. Overnight stay in Dovan.
The trek begins gradually uphill along Modi river valley toward Derail (3250 m). The trial follows a scenic path through dense bamboo and rhododendrons forest and several waterfalls and narrow sections along the gorge. Along the way, trekkers pass small resting points and tea houses at Himalaya and Hinku cave, where short breaks can be taken. As the trek progresses, the vegetation gradually becomes thinner and the landscape opens up with impressive views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and dramatic rock cliffs. This section of the trek takes approximately 3-4 hours. Overnight stay in Deurali.
The trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp is one of the most scenic sections of the Annapurna region. After leaving Deurali, the trial gradually ascends through the narrow glacial valley towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m) passing alpine landscapes, rocky moraines, and open mountain terrain. From Machhapuchhre Base Camp, the route continues with a steady climb into the spectacular Annapurna sanctuary, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Huinchuli, and the iconic Machhapuchhre ( Fishtail) and several other peaks. Upon arrival at Annapurna Base Camp, trekkers can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan amphitheater. Overnight stay at local tea house in Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m).
Early in the morning, trekkers can enjoy a spectacular sunrise view from Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m). As the first rays of sunlight gradually illuminate the surrounding Himalayan amphitheater, the snow covered peaks begin to glow in golden and pink hues. Trekkers are surrounded by some of the most iconic mountains of Annapurna region including Annapurna South, Huinchuli, Gangapurna, and the sacred peak Machhapuchhre. The peaceful morning atmosphere, combined with the breathtaking panoramic mountain scenery, makes sunrise at Annapurna Base Camp one of the most unforgettable highlights of the entire trek. The trek begins with a gradual descent along the same scenic trial back towards Deurali for approximately 5-6 hours. Overnight stay in Deurali.
The trek from Dovan to Chomrong follows a scenic trial descending through dense bamboo and rhododendron forest along with Modi Khola valley. The route passes small settlements like Bamboo and Sinuwa. After Sinuwa, the trial continues with a mix of gradual ascents and descents before crossing a suspension bridge and climbing a series of stone steps up to Chomrong village. This section of treks takes approximately 5-6 hours covering 10-11 kilometres in distance. Overnight stay in Chomrong.
After breakfast at Chomrong, the trek descends through terraced fields and forested trials towards the village of Jhinu Danda. From Jhinu, a short downhill walk of about 10-15 minutes leads to natural hot spring located along the banks of the Modi Khola at Jhinu Hot spring, where trekkers can relax and enjoy a refreshing bath after the long trek. After spending some time and having lunch, the journey continues with a short walk to the road access point near Siwai. From there, a scenic drive of approximately 3 hours brings you back to Pokhara, passing through beautiful countryside, rivers and local villages, marking the end of the memorable Annapurna Base Camp trekking experience.
